Easy Sriracha Chili Chicken Wings

Sriracha Chili Chicken Wings are a simple party appetizer or midweek supper that are sweet, buttery, and mildly spicy. These are the most tender and delectable wings you’ve ever seen, and they only require six ingredients and a small amount of prep time in the slow cooker or Instant Pot.

Ingredients:

  • 5 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp sriracha sauce (you can buy it on Amazon)
  • 1 Tbsp sweet chili sauce (you can find it on Amazon)
  • ⅛ tsp Diamond Crystal kosher salt
  • 3 lb chicken wings (flats/drumettes)
  • For the Garnish
  • cilantro (coriander) (optional)
  • toasted white sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions:

Step No.01

Compile every component. Microwave 5 tablespoons unsalted butter until melted.

Step No.02

In your slow cooker, add the melted butter and ½ cup of honey. I turned on the Slow Cook setting.

Step No.03

Next, add ⅛ tsp Diamond Crystal kosher salt, 1 Tbsp sweet chili sauce, and 3 Tbsp sriracha sauce. Buttery, sweet, and spicy, these wings can also have a savory flavor if you add 1 tsp of soy sauce to the sauce (this is my interpretation, not the original recipe). Combine everything.

Step No.04

Using tongs, add 3 pounds of chicken wings (drumettes or flats) and toss to coat evenly.

Step No.05

Cook on Low for 4-5 hours or on High for 2-3 hours if you’re using a slow cooker. If you’re using an Instant Pot, choose “Slow Cook” and give it two to three hours to cook. Please take note that, based on reader input in the comments below, I recommend cooking for three hours.

Step No.06

The meat is soft and practically falls off the bone after being cooked slowly in the Instant Pot for two to three hours. Serve the chicken just the way it is, or broil it for a few minutes to give it a crispy texture. To accomplish this, carefully move the wings in a single layer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper using tongs.

Step No.07

For 5 to 8 minutes, broil on High, flipping once. You can add extra sauce to the wings if you’d like. Take out of the oven, and if you’d like, top with toasted white sesame seeds and chopped cilantro (coriander).
