You’ll be astonished by the flavor of this ground turkey sweet potato skillet, which is ready to eat in less than 30 minutes. This is the ideal ONE-PAN dinner that your family will love!
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 pound free-range extra-lean ground turkey (you also can use grass-fed ground beef)
- 1 teaspoon garlic clove minced
- ½ cup onions diced
- ½ cup yellow pepper diced
- 1½ cups sweet potato diced
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- A pinch of red chili flakes optional
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (If you’re doing Whole30 or following Paleo diet, don’t add cheese)
- Fresh parsley for garnishing (optional)
Instructions:
Step No.01
Heat the olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Step No.02
Add the garlic and ground turkey. As the turkey cooks, split it up with a wooden spoon. For roughly five minutes, cook, stirring from time to time.
Step No.03
When the onions are tender, add the yellow peppers and onions and simmer.
Step No.04
Add the red chili flakes, salt, pepper, and sweet potato.
Step No.05
Once the sweet potatoes are soft, cover the skillet and continue cooking. Remember to stir from time to time. If required, cook the sweet potatoes faster by adding a small amount of water or extra olive oil.
Step No.06
Set the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit while the sweet potatoes are cooking.
Step No.07
Stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese and place the skillet in the oven to melt the cheese after the sweet potatoes are soft.
Step No.08
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the parsley once the cheese has melted.
